James Hitt M.D.,Ph.D.

James Hitt, MDDr. Hitt is a native of Western New York. He studied neurobiology and computer science at Columbia University. He completed his M.D. at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse and completed a Ph.D. dissertation in neuroscience while in medical school. Dr. Hitt completed anesthesia residency at the University at Buffalo, serving as the chief resident in his final year of training. He then completed a fellowship pain management at the University at Buffalo.

He has provided a wide range of medical and interventional pain management for patients at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and veterans with chronic pain at the VA hospital. He lives locally with his wife and two children aged 3 and 5 years.

Eugene J. Gosy, MD

Dr. Eugene Gosy graduated from Semmelweiss Medical University in Hungary and completed his neurology residency at Millard Fillmore Hospital and the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Gosy learned during his residency that patients who suffer from chronic pain need specialized treatment in order to address the underlying causes of their discomfort and achieve meaningful pain relief. This compassion led him to complete a one year pain fellowship program sponsored by the University at South Florida at the Healy VA Medical Center located in Tampa, Florida. Upon the completion of his pain fellowship training, he returned to Buffalo to commence his medical career at the Dent Neurologic Institute in 1994.

In 1999, he opened his own private practice specializing neurology and pain management and for the next seventeen years was dedicated to servicing the needs of the Buffalo area chronic pain suffers. In 2016, Dr. Gosy transitioned his practice into a new practice formed by Dr. James Hitt – known as Pain Management Associates of WNY.

Dr. Gosy is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Hungarian American Medical Association, the American Pain Society and the Erie County Medical Society, Dr. Gosy resides in Clarence and has two daughters.

Antonino Carlino DC FIACN DIBE

Dr. Antonino Carlino Dr. Antonino Carlino is a Buffalo native, Doctor of Chiropractic, who is a Fellow in the International Academy of Chiropractic Neurology and a Diplomate in the International Board of Electrodiagnosis. He is also certified in Intra-Operative Neuromonitoring, where he has assisted in several thousand complex brain and spinal surgical interventions, including spinal fusions and tumor/cancer removal.  Dr. Carlino is also certified in Manipulation Under Anesthesia and has been in private practice since 2004.  His background and experience has enabled him to work closely and collaboratively with many of the top orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons, within the Western and Central New York areas.

Dr. Carlino has 14 years of experience in practice management, practice building, and patient management. With his extensive knowledge of medical treatment protocols, in conjunction with targeted marketing to relevant and varied medical disciplines, he has personally managed, and assisted in establishing medical practices throughout the Western and Central New York areas.   He has been very successful at treating patients with various types of spinal and extremity conditions, as well as those who have failed with surgical interventions.  Dr. Carlino has collaborated with pain management physicians, Podiatrists, Neurosurgeons, primary care physicians, and urgent care centers, consulting and assisting providers in the formulation of proper diagnoses and treatment plans for injured individuals. 

Lastly, Dr. Carlino has worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York Chiropractic College where he educated interns in the clinical setting, providing students with hands-on, clinical experience in patient care, practice management, marketing, diagnosis, medical billing and coding.

Dr. Bauman

Dr. BaumanDr. Bauman is a chiropractor that specializes in neuromusculoskeletal conditions with an emphasis in integrated care, pain management, biomechanics and neurological deficits. Dr. Bauman obtained his Doctorate from D’Youville College in 2012, where he graduated with an Achievement Award for excellence in patient care and academic performance. Dr. Bauman, a Buffalo, NYU native, has spent time training in a variety of practical settings that included Buffalo hospitals, professional athletic teams as well as volunteer positions with area health clinics and integrated medical settings.

Johan C.A.M. de Beer, D.O., P.T.

Johan C.A.M. de Beer, D.O., P.T.Dr. Johan de Beer has over 32 years of experience in the field of rehabilitative medicine.  He is a native of the Netherlands, where he graduated with his degree in physical therapy.  After moving to the United States, he graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a Bachelor degree in Physical Therapy.  He continued his pre-med courses at the University of Buffalo, prior to graduating from NOVA Southeastern University with a degree as a Doctor of Osteopathy. He completed his Certificate of Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the State University of New York at Buffalo.  Dr. de Beer's comprehensive rehabilitative background has enabled him to work in a variety of patient settings and among the top physicians in Western New York.

Dr. Johan de Beer has extensive knowledge of the neuromuscular system and physical rehabilitation, as related to pain management. His approach is unique to each individual and consists of a variety of treatment interventions, which may include soft tissue mobilization or myofascial release, cupping, stretching, therapeutic exercise, joint mobilization or manipulation, neuromobilizations and motor control training.  He understands the importance of an integrated program to improve pain and restore function.

He is committed to achieving optimal patient outcomes by utilizing evidence based medicine and offering individualized treatment programs. Dr. de Beer takes a personal approach to patient care, education, symptom relief and preventative treatment.  His focus is on the individual needs of the patients, with clear and timely communication with your physician.

Christine Moley, Nurse Practitioner - Board Certified

Christine Moley, Nurse PractitionerChristine Moley is one of the most experienced professionals at Pain Management Associates of WNY with more than 30 years of nursing experience. She entered the profession to “improve patients’ quality of life. Christine assesses and develops the appropriate plan of care that each individual patient needs to improve levels of function and quality of life. This includes safe pain management and referrals for invasive procedures.

She became a nurse practitioner in 2003 and worked cardiac and primary care before joing our practice in 2009, where she focuses on pain management. Christine received her Master’s degree with honors and Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tampa. She is a member of the prestigious Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society. Christine’s patient philosophy is simple, “treat all patients like they’re family.”

 

Elizabeth Hyla, Adult Nurse Practitioner Board Certified

Elizabeth Hyla, Adult Nurse Practitioner – Board CertifiedElizabeth Hyla is a board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner who entered the profession “to provide holistic and individualized care to people suffering from chronic pain.” She began working with our practice in 2007 after a lengthy career as a hospitalist at ECMC. Her patient philosophy is simple and straightforward, “always be caring and honest with your patients.”  Elizabeth received her Master’s degree in Nursing: Adult Nurse Practitioner from the University at Buffalo where she won the prestigious Shromberg award.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Daemen College with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Kym Cannizzaro, Adult Nurse Practitioner

Kym Cannizzaro, Adult Nurse PractitionerMy philosophy is that every patient is unique and a “complete patient approach” is necessary when treating pain. Addressing the whole patient, not just the pain, by looking at mood, sleep pattern, function with activities of daily living and quality of life and incorporating a multidisciplinary approach to pain management is critical for the best outcome.

Kym has practiced as a RN for 17 years in various acute and critical care settings. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing at Damen College. Kym received a Master’s of Science in Nursing, Adult Gerontologic Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program at Damen College. She completed her thesis on Pain Management which was researched extensively for three years.

Kym is an active member of: Nurse Practitioner Association, American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.  She lives locally with her husband and three children.
